At Glover Family Medicine, we ask our patients what they want in their ideal medical practice and we try to give them that to the best of our ability. Sometimes that even means having our friendly labradoodles in the waiting room to help take your mind off your worries. We make an effort to create a comfortable, patient-oriented clinic with extended appointment lengths compared to the average clinic. Dr. Glover also offers same-to-next business day scheduling when needed for acute concerns. Continuity, time to connect with patients, and affordability are important to us.
A community-oriented clinic
We hope GFM is a cozy place to come when you are ill, an inviting place to come when you are well, and a place of non-judgement for all. Do you have a bit of good news to share with the doc or my staff? By all means, please stop by! We view our clients like neighbors in a big friendly community. In keeping with this perspective, Dr. Glover shares her personal cell phone number with her patients in case they need to contact her for after hours advice.
The Direct Primary Care model
Glover Family Medicine's payment and care model is Direct Primary Care (DPC). Payment is arranged directly between you and your doctor in the form of an affordable monthly membership fee without the involvement of insurance. In this model, Dr. Glover can work for her patients, not for their insurance companies.
Insurance and primary care
Although insurance is needed for the less common but more expensive health events in life, insurance is actually not necessary in primary care. In fact, insurance has made primary care unaffordable, complicated, inaccessible and impersonal for many patients. Without the involvement of insurance, primary care can be affordable, simple, accessible and personal. Insurance in primary care not only causes unnecessary expenses and hassles for patients, it is also a source of burnout for primary care healers nationwide. Insurance in primary care has made it next to impossible for small privately-owned practices to even survive. Most of our country's private-practice primary care physicians, the champions of affordable personalized medicine, have been pushed out of business and are now an endangered species.
Will Glover Family Medicine's care and payment model work for you?
Glover Family Medicine's Direct Primary Care (DPC) model is good for pretty much anyone. It is good for those with high deductible insurance, for the self-employed, for owners and members of small businesses, for members of health shares, for those who make just a little bit too much to qualify for Medicaid, for the uninsured, AND for the well-insured who are not happy with the access and service at their current primary clinic. It is especially good for those who want a great relationship with their doctor!
